Massive Forum Restructuring

To make the forums more navigable, I have condensed all the "other worlds" outside of Merran, Neohavannah, and Gullek, down to a single forum with sub forums.

My reasoning for this is simple: These forums never get used. After condensing 7 forums and at least 40 sub-forums, I moved a total of 6 threads. I may even remove some of these areas entirely, or even all of them!

Be sure to vote in the new poll! Should FURSTAR™ become just a Space Station Merran RP?

I'm sure some of you noticed that last night the postcount dropped like a rock in several forms (Milkbar, Hanger, Dorms) This is because I took the older, and massive threads and converted them to HTML and made links.

You may ask why I did this, since the forums are far from cluttered (and acctually milkbar was getting there) and the reason is simple, recoverability.

If I leave them in the forum itself, my DB size swells, and it's already over the upload limit, meaning if we got hacked I coudl not restore the DB and we'd be stuck starting from scratch on posts. This way they're flat-files instead, which I *can* upload and download at will.

Expect more archiving over the next few weeks.

New Articles, NEw Boards, and Movies!

This is a relativly large update for once!

First, we have a new issue of the Merran Meteor! It mentions the recent improvements around the city, gives a review of the new movies playing at the theatre, and talks about the new labratories that just opened!

Next, as mentioend above, The Galactiplex theatre is now open! Currently there are 2 movies that are open to the public, the G-rated "There She Is" and the PG-13 rated "Nightmare City" Dont get discouraged, though, There are more movies that will be added, I promise!

Lastly, some new boards were added. Red Mesa Labs (props to those who get the reference, but no prizes, sorry) has opened, and is renting out space for all your veriosu scientific explits. Also some boards were added to the OOC area for discussion of Movies/TV, Anime/Manga, and Games!

Enjoy the Updates, I'll be back here in a month if not sooner!

Newspaper!

We now have a newspaper! It chronicles major RP events as well as worldly improvements. Because Merran is the main RP center, the paper is baced on Merran and focuses mainly on events that will affect the station. This will be posted on a monthly basis.

If you would like to submit an article, pelase PM it to me.
